Charles Le Corbusier (1887-1965) Charles Le Corbusier was born October 6, 1887 in La Chaux-de-fonds, Switzerland and died August 27, 1965 in Roquebrune-Cap-Martin, France at the age of 77. Main representative of the modern movement, he regarded the house as a machine for living, but also as the family temple. Famous architect and urban planner, he was full of ideas that earned him a talented reputation in France and abroad. According to Charles Le Corbusier, the furniture should not only be functional or decorative but must also integrate into a living space.
