Hans J. Wegner was born April 2, 1914, and died January 26, 2007 at the age of 92. Trained as a cabinetmaker, his timeless design represents the artistic excellence. Concerned about the functionality of his creations, they were thoroughly analysed during the entire manufacturing process. His most emblematic creation is The Chair. It became famous around the world after President John Kennedy suffering from intense back pain chose it for his televised debate with Richard Nixon.
